everyone! Woah, I don’t know how to express my feeling right now HAHA. My blog slept for a long time and I’m raising it up again for some reason. So now,
I want to tell you that I have been being a boarding girl for a year and many
things have happened. Here, I will give you some information about a boarding
teenager’s life. But why do I choose this topic? Because in social media, like
Twitter, I have seen many questions about how an ideal boarding house is, what we
must bring to our boarding house, how to make a new friendship with other tenants,
what steps to start lives as a boarding teenager are, and what tricks that we
can do if we feel uncomfortable or fail in our new situations are. Those questions
get an increase when new student acceptance begins. So, let’s start it!
§ How is an ideal boarding house?

Actually, people
have their own specifications of an ideal boarding house. Sometimes, it depends
on their location and situation. I will write down a general specification from
my thoughts which all boarding houses must have (I used these when I looked for a
boarding house).
1.
Security.
Very important. You need more protection when you are not in your
own place. Moreover, if you don’t have anyone to give protection, you will
just rely on yourself and new people that you believe like your boarding house
owner.
2.
Comfort.
Another important point. It is like how you find your new comfort zone.
You will get comfort from the facilities, friendliness, and security in your
boarding house. That’s why security must be truly sure suitably with the
standard.
3.
Achievable.
Choose a boarding house which achievable from campus or workplace
and public facilities also has an achievable rent fee. Usually, rent fees
appropriate with the boarding house’s facilities but don’t worry to bargain the
rent fee.
4.
Freedom.
At this point, freedom means you are free to accept your family, to
invite your friends who have a similar gender, and to ask permission if you must
go back boarding house late. I believe that every boarding house has its own
rules and as a tenant, can’t break it.
§ What must you bring to the boarding house?
Everyone has different
necessities and you can’t make all the same. But the main point is bringing what you
think it’s important and you will need it. Of course, you must bring individual
necessities and anything that can’t you get in your destination. If you can
find it at your destination, it will be better to buy rather than bring it from our
house.
§ How to make a new friendship with other tenants?

Starts a
conversation with a stranger need an effort to kill a nervous and raise up a
brave. So, give the best smile because a smile can be an ice breaker. Then, extends
your hand to offer others an introduction and a friendship. After that, introduce
yourself and ask your speak partner too. Don’t be arrogant and do the steps
politely because you will need your friends in your life.
§ What are the steps to start lives as a boarding teenager?
1.
Always
ready.
When you arrive at a boarding house, settle your baggage quickly. You
can’t waste your time carelessly and use it effectively.
2.
Be friendly
and respectful.
Many teenagers can’t stand in a new place because of an arrogant
person. Then, they choose to leave and be arrogant too. It’s not true. You have
to be a friendly person or at least like to give others a smile. Don’t forget
to make a new friend in your new place.
3.
Keep
the healthy food.
If you decide to become a boarding teenager, you have to pay
attention to your food every day. Try to cook by yourself rather than buy at
the food stall. Why? Because we don’t know the ingredient so we can’t control
it. Thus, stay away from snacks and buy some fruits to make you always happy.
4.
Do small
movement.
When waking up, do small movements to joints regularly. Jogging
or walking on the way to university helps you to increase your health.
5.
Rest
enough.
I don’t recommend staying up too late. But, if there is an
assignment, make sure to replace it the next day. Your body needs some rest.
6.
Fasting
sunnah.
You can get pahala and avoid yourself from an excessive
lust. Because during fasting, you can press expenditure to eat but still keep
yourself from buying excessive food to break the fast.
7.
Pulses
and internet data.
I believe that a boarding teenager can’t handle it regularly. Sometimes,
a boarding teenager prefers to refill pulses and internet data rather than to
buy healthy food. Start your finance management if you don’t want to get big regret.
8.
Write
messages.
Make a little note then paste it in every corner of your room. A little
note can contain your messages, your parents' messages or advice, and
anything which can make you excited every day.
9.
Get a
safe hobby.
The hobby is the way you have something to do in your free time. So,
get a safe hobby like drawing, singing, poetry, cooking, etc.
10.
Don’t
be silly.
You have to become a thinker in every moment. You can’t always
follow your friends. Think before action.
§ What are tricks you can do if you start feels uncomfortable?
1.
Where
is your priority running?
Priority is primary. As a boarding teenager who lives apart from
parents and has to manage monthly finances, you should make a priority list. Remember,
the first priority is the most important thing. Don’t let yourself make a
priority list incorrectly. A good priority without action will not impact
your priority list.
2.
Save
your money consistently.
You must know that life as a boarding teenager can’t let you
thrifty just at the end of the month. After you get your money for a month, save
it as soon as possible. If you spend it on unimportant things directly, you
will feel regret.
3.
Stand
up straight, straight up!
“Hey, join us! We’re gonna visit a new café in front of
campus.”
“Let’s go to the department store! There’s a super big sale.”
Have you ever heard those kinds of sentences above? What’s your
answer? I know that the saddest thing by becoming a boarding teenager is to reject
the offers. Don’t worry because you can achieve their offers when you have time
and money enough. But don’t spoil yourself too much and remember your priority
list.
4.
I’m
simple and I’m proud!
Adults is a deep sense of the word. When you manage to control
desires that aren’t your priority and walk confidently even if you don’t have
to wear all the things look “wow.” Everything should fit with your abilities. Adjust
is the key. You don’t need to look fancy outside because beauty is character.
5.
Save
money for twice.
You must save your money for medicine, health insurance, and free
money. Free money will be used when your friend or family has a sudden agenda or
get an accident.
6.
Do for
your life.
You can start looking for extra money by selling something online,
write and send your write. It’s time for you to develop your talent and make
money.
